Musti, who will represent Belgium at Eurovision 2024, received over 1,000 responses to an open call he organized last week.
The singer revealed on January 11 that the song for Eurovision 2024 is almost complete, but he is looking for a choir to sing the final part of the song. For this reason, Musti asked members of the public to record.
The call received over a thousand files, both audio and video. “It’s completely crazy and emotional,” Musti’s manager Laurent Walchot told Les Soires newspaper.
Now, it remains to sort out all these voices. This is producer Toby Spelleman’s mission. Laurent Walshot admits:
“He has a few days left and plans to finish by Monday. The process is simple: he uses the bass he recorded with the first choir and incorporates it into the five existing versions of the song. . New audio is seamlessly combined into a single file, and anything that’s unusable is discarded. Even if you’re singing out of key, it won’t be noticeable. The final compilation will look like Lana Del Rey , Keene and Moby, mixer Dan Gretsch-Margerat. The public can expect the results to be announced around mid-February.”
By submitting files, participants agreed to waive any rights to their images and sounds.
This is not the first time a Eurovision artist has asked members of the public to provide backing vocals for a Eurovision entry. Daji Frail used recordings from the public in his 2021 entry “10 Years.”
