As it turns out, the torn and pockmarked roads may be in TikTok’s home country, and the shoddy construction that plagues China may be to blame.

The video in question is a repost from several months ago, traced back to the r/China subreddit, with Reddit users citing the “tofu scum project” common in the Eastern superpower.
