After failing to land, the plane crashed into a car parked on a road near Spa Airport, causing both cars to burst into flames, local police commander Jean-Michel Lejeune told AFP.
“Unfortunately, two people died on board,” Lejeune told AFP. “Looks like the landing failed.”
The pilot was German, but the nationality of the passengers is currently under investigation, police said.
According to media reports, the driver of the car was lucky to have just gotten out of the car for a smoke break, which almost certainly saved his life.

Images published in Belgian media showed emergency vehicles blocking roads, thick black smoke billowing near the runway and the remains of a burnt-out car.
Environmental protection officers are also reportedly on the scene to ensure the spa’s famous bottled spring water is not contaminated.
