Seatrium delivers 12,000 cbm Brassavola for LNG bunker services in Singapore

Must read

The 12,000 cubic meter capacity LNG bunker ship Brassavola, scheduled to be deployed to the Port of Singapore, has been delivered to Indah Singapore Maritime, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL).

Provided by Seatrium

The bunker vessel was built by Singapore’s Seatrium, formerly known as Sembcorp Marine, which announced the delivery via social media on January 29. Her launching and naming ceremonies were held in April and October 2022, respectively.

Following delivery, Brassavola will provide LNG bunkering services at the Port of Singapore through a partnership with Pavilion Energy and TotalEnergies Marine Fuels.

The vessel is built to a proprietary design by LMG Marine, a wholly owned subsidiary of Seatrium, and has a payload and refueling capacity of 2,000 cubic meters per hour.

With a length of 116.5 meters, a width of 22 meters, and a capacity of 12,000 cubic meters, it is said to be the largest LNG bunker ship operating in Singapore Port.

Bunkering vessels operate on dual-fuel engines, powered by LNG or marine diesel oil, and are taking precautions. It features two GTT Mark III Flex membrane tanks, which are said to have low internal pressures, temperatures, and boil-off rates. This increases tank durability, makes fuel transfer operations safer, and reduces cargo loss due to evaporation.
