Diego Vitaliano brings pizza to Singapore for 4 days

Diego Vitaliano, voted the world’s best pizza restaurant, will land in Singapore on February 20, 2024 for a four-night dinner.

The founder and chef of 10 Diego Vitagliano in Naples, along with Antonio Miscellaneo, owner of La Bottega, will be serving an eight-course menu at La Bottega Enoteca from February 20th to 23rd.

Mr. Vitaliano will be serving four types of award-winning pizzas in Singapore, while Mr. Miscellaneo will be serving appetizers, main courses and desserts.

In 2023, the Italian-based guide “50 Top Pizza” named 10 Diego Vitagliano the best pizzeria in the country and in the world. Joe Chiat’s La Botte Ga Enoteca was also crowned Singapore’s best pizza restaurant.

Born and raised in Naples, Vitaliano first started working with pizza professionally when he became a pizza delivery boy at the age of 16.

Encouraged by his father to learn the craft, Vitaliano worked at various pizza restaurants and experimented with dough. He eventually became known for his larger, fluffier puff pastry called cunt.

Vitaliano opened his eponymous restaurant in Naples’ Bagnoli district in 2017. Currently he has three of his stores in southern Italian cities and one of his stores in Qatar.

Over the years, Vitaliano has been recognized by Italian cooking magazine Gambero Rosso for his work with pizza dough, and has been named Pizza Chef of the Year by other national publications.

The first dish at Vitaliano’s pizza dinner in Singapore is a fried pasta snack inspired by aglio olio. This is followed by Magma, a Roman pie with spicy nujda pork sausage, crunchy pepper and salted ricotta.

His other pizzas include classic marinara, smoked provola, beef carpaccio, abra ciami with roasted mayo, and cam una pastiera, a fried sweet pizza with custard and candied orange. And so on.

La Bottega’s chef Michelaneo serves cold appetizers of cured sardines, burrata, and roasted Sicilian tomatoes. For his main course, he chooses between grilled Iberian pork with roasted peppers and capers, or cod with lobster bisque and Sardinian strawberries.

Dessert is pine nut gelato with crostoli, or fried dough.

Vitagliano’s pizza dinner in Singapore costs from S$168++ per person, including three non-alcoholic drinks. Wine pairings are available for an additional charge of S$20++.

There are two seatings each night, the first seating from 5:30pm to 6pm and the second seating from 8:30pm.

We are now accepting reservations for dinner from February 21st to 23rd. Reservations for February 20th will begin on February 5th at 5pm.
