Novak Djokovic was recently spotted with his family in the northern Italian province of South Tyrol.
Djokovic has had a rough start to the 2024 ATP Tour season. The Serbian player felt discomfort in his elbow during Team Serbia’s United Cup match, which ended with a straight loss to Alex de Minaur in the quarter-finals.
The 36-year-old was far from his best at the Australian Open a few weeks later, losing badly to fourth-seeded Jannik Sinner in the last four. He then returned to Marbella, Spain to be with his family and was absent from Serbia’s Davis Cup qualifier against Slovakia on Friday (February 2).
In fact, Djokovic was also scheduled to take a family trip to Bolzano in South Tyrol, which may have contributed to his absence from the Davis Cup.
On Sunday (February 3), several photos of Serbs and their families at Bolzano airport were posted on social media. In addition to Djokovic and his wife Jelena, the photo also features a dark brown Eurasian dog who may be the latest addition to the 36-year-old’s family.
In another photo, Djokovic sported a bespectacled look while posing with airport staff. The Serbian himself wears many layers of clothing in his photos, hinting at the cold Italian climate.

Novak Djokovic recently appeared on The Today Show and was asked how he was coping with leaving his wife and two children behind for a Grand Slam tournament.
The Serb said the trip Down Under was one of the toughest he had ever endured as he missed out on some of the most precious moments of his children’s formative years.
Novak Djokovic told the Today Show: “As time goes on, it becomes more and more of a problem. Australia is a long trip, probably the longest trip of the year.
