A man who claims to have murdered three elderly brothers in a village in the Madrid region has taken a new life.

Police and prison officials have confirmed to Spanish media that Dilawar Hussein Chaudhary killed his cellmate while in pre-trial custody in the early hours of this morning.

Choudhary turned himself in to police in January after the decomposed bodies of Amelia, Ángeles and Pepe Gutierrez Ayuso, aged between 71 and 79, were discovered in his home in Morata de Tajunha.

In this incident that shocked Spain, it was reported that three elderly brothers died in a violent manner. Their bodies were piled up in their homes and partially burnt.

Chaudhary, 42, a Pakistani national, rented a room at his brother’s house and became the police’s main suspect.

The suspect told police that he killed the sisters in “revenge” for money he lent to the alleged victims of an online romance scam, and that they never returned.

After his confession, he was detained and taken to the Extremera prison in the southeastern region of Madrid on January 24.

The same police and prison officials told Spain Daily. el pais He was reportedly taken to a cell this morning on suspicion of murdering his cellmate.

He was placed in Module 2 of the prison, which houses the most high-conflict inmates.

Chaudhary had already spent time in the same prison after being arrested for hitting one of her sisters with a hammer during a dispute over money.

Neighbors raised the alarm about the brothers’ disappearance and informed authorities that they had not been seen around the village for some time.

Neighbors told reporters after the three bodies were discovered that the sisters had apparently fallen for a so-called “romance scam” on social media, believing they were talking to American soldiers stationed in Afghanistan. It is said that it was done.

Her brother Pepe, 79 and disabled, was unaware of what was happening, according to Spanish daily El Pais.

Neighbors said the sisters began sending money to scammers with the promise of unlocking an inheritance worth millions.

Once Angeles and Amelia had exhausted their savings, they reportedly began asking friends and neighbors for loans. When neighbors advised them that they might be being scammed by scammers, the sisters intended to cut such people out of their lives.

Chaudhary was the main suspect in the case as he had a previous conviction for violence against family members.

In January 2023, he assaulted his sister Angeles, and again in February, he beat her with a hammer over an apparent debt. He was arrested on these charges and imprisoned until September last year.

On January 22, he turned himself in to police in Arganda del Rey, Madrid, where he ran a telephone shop, and confessed to the crime.
