Must read

Thursday, February 29, 2024, from 12:00 to 13:30. CET (UTC+1). Venue: Fundación Botín, c/ Castello nº 18 C, Madrid.

Over the past two decades, since the 11M terrorist attack in 2004, which became the deadliest jihadist attack in European history, jihadist mobilization and the inherent terrorist threat have not disappeared from our society, but have evolved.

As we mark the 20th anniversary of the Madrid attacks, this roundtable looks back at the evolution of the global jihadist movement in Spain over the past decade. Based on original data on jihadists convicted or killed in our country from 2012 to 2023, the speakers will explore the characteristics of jihadists, the process of violent radicalization, and their involvement. We present three papers that focus on and analyze patterns of change and continuity in this phenomenon. Patterns of terrorist activity.
