Following the successful launch of Singapore Airlines’ global brand campaign ‘Welcome to World Class’ in January 2023, the award-winning airline has unveiled a campaign film that captures the emotions and moments at 30,000 feet. published.
The film follows Julia Nimke as she flies to Singapore’s Leica Gallery on Singapore Airlines. But she had her one pitfall. That is, the exhibits were not photographed.
Julia is a Berlin-based travel photographer who has used her experience to create lenses for a variety of travel and tourism clients and publications.
Julia’s own challenge with this project was photographing, curating, and editing the exhibits while flying at 30,000 feet. This is made possible by Singapore Airlines’ elevated in-flight experience, including our famous in-flight service. In addition to our flight menus, comfortable seats and spacious cabins, we offer unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi in all cabin classes.
“I’m a travel photographer, and I’ve always loved photographing journeys as much as destinations,” said Julia Nimke. I work in the best possible environment and with the light available. ”
Julia’s photos capture the moments we spend in the sky, from unique selfie compositions using the built-in mirrors of SIA’s business class seats to the way the light hits the spacious cabin, bathed in the glow of light. Capturing the raw, authentic moments you love most. , or the moment when a flight attendant delicately arranges food as if it were her own canvas.
These photographs were exhibited in a solo exhibition at the Leica Gallery at Raffles Hotel.
“It was a dream to work with Julia,” said Loo Yong Ping, deputy executive creative director of TBWA Singapore. The beautiful images were truly moving. ”
“Filming inside an airplane presents logistical challenges. There are other passengers, so you have to be discreet and work with your environment. Thanks to Julia’s unique eye, I’m so happy that everything turned out so beautifully in this movie,” said Jackie Lee, director of Small Shop.
