“Traditionally, the largest buyers of Ukrainian grain last year were representatives of the European Union, Asia and Africa. In 2023, Spain became the largest importer of Ukrainian grains, accounting for 17.1% of the export value of this commodity group. China came in second place with a share of 13.9%.

Romania was the largest importer of Ukrainian grain in 2022 and secured third place in 2023 with a share of 12.5%.

“These three countries, which are leaders in the ranking of major importing countries, together account for about 44% of Ukraine’s total grain purchases,” the scientists pointed out.
