Prosecutors told the court that this was because Mr. Wang could not find a suitable bailiff.

The indictment also identified Wang as male.

Mr Wang had previously been charged with two counts of public nuisance and one count of voluntarily causing bodily harm.

Two of the public nuisance charges were for attempting to force open MRT doors at Braddell and Ang Mo Kio MRT stations, and the other was for kicking a person causing injury at Ang Mo Kio MRT station.

During the hearing, prosecutors said they were ready to move forward with Wang’s case, continuing with three of the charges and considering one.

When District Judge Ou Yong Tuck Leung asked Wang what his next steps would be, defense lawyer Jared Lee asked for an adjournment until February 1 or 2.

Mr Lee said this was to ensure he had enough time to receive instructions from his client and make his argument.
