- Ivanka, 42, spent most of the year traveling around the globe
- She and husband Jared Kushner enjoyed romantic trips to Greece and Spain
- Ivanka recently flew to Las Vegas for the opening of a luxury hotel and casino
Ivanka Trump has fully returned to her life as a socialite and spent most of the year traveling around the globe as she continues to embrace her jet-setter status.
The former White House senior advisor racked up her frequent flyer miles in 2023 with stops in Israel, Greece, Costa Rica, and Spain, all of which she chronicled on Instagram.
Both 42, Ivanka and her husband, Jared Kushner, have been living in the Miami area with their three children — Arabella, Joseph, and Theodore — since her father, former President Donald Trump, left office in January 2021.
The couple recently moved into their newly renovated mansion on Indian Creek, an exclusive island in Miami-Dade County known as ‘Billionaire Bunker’ — but that hasn’t inhibited her travel.
In recent months, Ivanka attended Kim Kardashian’s 43rd birthday party in Los Angeles, enjoyed a post-Thanksgiving vacation with her family in the Bahamas, and walked the red carpet at a luxury hotel opening in Las Vegas.
The mother of three is undoubtedly living the good life, but she has also kept up with her philanthropic efforts, which led her to fly to the Hawaiian island of Maui to join volunteer efforts after the devastating wildfire.
In celebration of the new year, FEMAIL has taken a look back on Ivanka’s vacations in 2023, from her pilgrimage to Jerusalem, to her surfing lessons in Costa Rica.
February: Mystery trip to the desert, presumably Utah
Ivanka channeled her inner cowgirl when she posted a snapshot of herself modeling a Western-inspired outfit while on a mystery vacation earlier this year.
The former first daughter had on a black vest and hip-hugging flare pants that revealed her stomach. She topped off the rodeo look with a silver and turquoise concho belt and boots.
The mirror selfie looked to have been taken in a hotel room, but she left fans guessing about her whereabouts — leaving nothing but two cowboy emojis in the caption.
She opted to add audio to the post, choosing cowboy crooner Gene Autry’s 1939 song ‘Back in the Saddle Again.’
Ivanka documented the start of her trip on her Instagram Stories, beginning with an aerial view of her mystery destination.
When she went horseback riding, she posed for a photo while sitting in the saddle. She also captured pictures of her horse up close, a stone building with a large painted wall, and a red-rock formation.
Ivanka appeared to be somewhere in the desert, likely in Utah, where she and Jared visited in November 2022.
She later revealed her husband was with her when she posted a snapshot of him kissing her while they were on horseback.
March: Pilgrimage to Jerusalem with her family
Ivanka enjoyed a religious trip to Jerusalem with her husband, Jared, and their youngest son, Theodore, in March.
She documented their pilgrimage on Instagram, sharing pictures of them participating in sunrise prayers at the Western Wall, which is considered the holiest site in Judaism where Jewish people are allowed to pray.
Ivanka, who was raised Christian, converted to Orthodox Judaism to marry Jared in 2009, and they are raising their children in the same faith. The couple’s daughter, Arabella, and oldest son, Joseph, did not appear to be with them.
The mother of three shared a short video of dozens of worshippers praying at the holy site as the sun came up and the birds chirped.
‘Sunrise prayers at the Western Wall,’ she captioned the clip.
Located in east Jerusalem, the Western Wall is a section of one of four original retaining walls King Herod built in the first century B.C. to support the Temple Mount.
It is also the only remaining portion of the Second Jewish Temple, which stood in Jerusalem until the Romans destroyed it in 70 A.D.
Ivanka went on to post a photo of herself deep in prayer with her forehead and hand resting on the women’s section of the wall in keeping with the gender-segregated Orthodox custom.
Another snapshot showed her smiling with Jared and Theodore, who is the spitting image of his father, but with his mother’s blonde hair.
May: Greece with Jared followed by a royal wedding in Jordan
Ivanka and Jared were only home for a few months when they grabbed their passports and headed to Greece for another getaway.
They started their trip in Athens, where she posed for pictures in front of the Acropolis, and then headed to the Temple of Apollo in Delphi.
The former first daughter and her husband also visited Hydra, a popular island just off the coast of mainland Greece.
Ivanka shared over a dozen pictures from the trip, including lengthy captions about the sites they had visited and what they meant to her.
‘During the pandemic I reread “The Odyssey” and fell in love [with] Homer’s epic poem once again. (I loved Robert Fitzgerald’s translation.) Walking in the footsteps of Odysseus these past few days has been an extraordinary experience – ancient ruins and mythical landscapes came alive before my eyes as I explored this breathtaking country,’ she wrote in her final post.
‘Thank you, Greece, for bringing the Odyssey to life in the most enchanting way possible. Here’s to new adventures and embracing the spirit of Odysseus within us all!’
After leaving Greece, they jetted to Jordan to attend the royal wedding of the Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan and his new wife, Rajwa.
Ivanka and Jared were among a host of high-profile guests at the event, including First Lady Jill Biden, Prince William, and Princess Kate.
The day after the wedding, she took to Instagram to offer her official congratulations to Jordan’s Crown Prince and his new wife.
‘Congratulations to Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah and Princess Rajwa Al Hussein on their beautiful wedding in Jordan yesterday,’ she wrote. ‘May their lives together be blessed with an abundance of love, health, and happiness.’
June: Surf lessons in Costa Rica
Ivanka soaked up the sun while taking surf lessons in Costa Rica — just weeks after her adventures in Greece.
The former White House senior advisor took to Instagram to share a photo of herself carrying a surfboard from the Surfer Factory, a surf school based in the Central American country.
Ivanka was dressed in a sporty black one-piece featuring a stomach cutout as she walked across the sand toward the water, smiling as her blonde hair blew in the breeze.
‘Soaking up the Summer Solstice,’ she captioned the image, which was posted on the first official day of summer.
Water sports have become a natural pastime for the born and bred New Yorker since she moved to Miami more than two years ago. She has also been taking wakeboarding lessons in her free time.
Ivanka didn’t share many details about her location, but she posted a series of photos and videos of her stunning surroundings on her Instagram Stories.
One image showed a white horse grazing on the grounds of her resort. Another was a close-up of a fruit tree. She included footage of a golden retriever happily swimming in an infinity pool overlooking the rainforest.
A snapshot of her lounge chair showed that she was reading Lessons in Chemistry, the New York Times bestselling novel by Bonnie Garmus.
It’s unclear if the mom was on a solo trip or joined by her husband and their three children.
June: Partying with DJ David Guetta in Spain
Ivanka and Jared spent the last weekend in June with DJ David Guetta in Spain.
The former first daughter had on a cream crochet coverup when she and her husband, Jared, were spotted walking hand in hand in Es Caló, a small fishing village on the island of Formentera.
The couple started their voyage on the mainland of Spain, trekking over rocks and sand before they joined others on a speedboat to a yacht. Once onboard, she took off her coverup and soaked up the sun in a tie-dye blue bathing suit.
Ivanka was seen chatting with a shirtless Guetta, who was dressed in red swim trunks, as well as other people on the yacht.
She couldn’t resist pulling out her cellphone and documenting her stunning surroundings, including the crashing waves
Ivanka later revealed on her Instagram Stories that she and Jared had watched Guetta perform in Ibiza.
She posted a photo of herself cuddling her husband, as well as pictures of the French DJ’s set, with the caption: ‘Ibizaaaaa!’
September: Volunteering in Hawaii after Maui wildfire
Ivanka made a secret trip to the Hawaiian island of Maui in early September to hand out meals and critical supplies to residents still recovering from the devastating wildfire.
The former first daughter joined CityServe International on a humanitarian mission to distribute 250,000 prepackaged meals to displaced families impacted by the deadliest U.S. wildfire in over a century.
They visited a Lahaina church acting as a food pantry and met with residents who were working to rebuild their lives.
Dressed in a blank tank top and green cargo pants, Ivanka wore a name tag that read ‘Iva’ as she distributed fresh produce locally grown in Maui.
‘Her humble presence lifted spirits and reminded the people of Lahaina that they are not forgotten,’ CityServe said in a statement.
‘Amidst the tears being shed are tangible signs of hope and love, and with the arrival of meals and supplies, our partners and team alongside Ivanka, were hefting boxes of supplies, consoling survivors, and passing out meals to those who’ve lost everything.’
The group also provided gas cards and air filters to residents who were advised not to drink the water and to stay away from fire-damaged areas.
Ivanka used her connections to get other companies to donate goods to those in Maui, according to CityServe.
The mother of three did not post photos of her philanthropic efforts on her Instagram feeds as she has done in the past.
September: Chasing waterfalls in Oregon
Ivanka enjoyed the natural wonders of the Pacific Northwest when she traveled to Portland, Oregon, after volunteering in Hawaii.
She took to Instagram on September 9 to post photos of her scenic surroundings, but she never shared why she was there or who she was with.
The former White House senior adviser traveled about 30 minutes outside the city to visit Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in Oregon and the most visited natural recreation site in the Pacific Northwest.
Ivanka’s pictures were mostly of nature, including the tall trees that surrounded her and a closeup of a flowering shrub.
The only picture of downtown Portland was of the historic White Stag sign that sits atop the White Stag Building.
Ivanka’s post also featured a snapshot of redwood bonsai by David De Groot, suggesting she made a stop at the Pacific Bonsai Museum in Washington.
‘Portland, Oregon,’ she wrote in the caption, adding a green heart emoji.
October: Celebrating Kim Kardashian’s birthday in Los Angeles
Ivanka flew across the country to attend Kim Kardashian’s 43rd birthday party in Los Angeles on October 20.
The former first daughter was spotted leaving the bash that was held at Funke, a high-end Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills.
She was dressed to impress in a long-sleeve cream sequin crop top that revealed a sliver of her abs and a matching pencil skirt with a thigh-high slit.
Ivanka has known Kim for years, but they reconnected in 2017 when the reality star met with then-President Trump to discuss prison reform.
Other high-profile guests at the party included various members of the Kardashian-Jenner clan, model Hailey Bieber, and Jeff Bezos’s fiancée Lauren Sanchez.
November: Riding simulated waves in the Bahamas
Ivanka put her surfing skills to the test while vacationing in the Bahamas with her family the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Dressed in a light purple swimsuit with side cutouts that revealed her abs, she tried out the FlowRider wave simulator at the beachfront Baha Bay Water Park in Nassau.
Ivanka looked like a pro as she balanced on the neon green board, but she eventually had a spectacular wipeout — a moment that was caught on camera.
In the first photo she posted on Instagram, she is riding the waves with ease, but the second shows her tumbling in the water, her legs up in the air.
‘Instagram versus reality,’ she joked on her Stories at the time.
Ivanka included a short video of herself maintaining her balance on the water before an employee came over to help her off the board.
The mom also posted footage of her youngest son, Theodore, smiling while riding the waves on his boogie board.
December: Celebrating a luxury hotel opening in Las Vegas
Ivanka jetted to Nevada in mid-December to attend the grand opening of the lavish $3.7 billion Fontainebleau resort and casino in the heart of the Las Vegas Strip.
The former first daughter, who was without her husband, dazzled in a $3,495 disco ball-inspired gown by Monique Lhuillier.
Ivanka posed for photos on the red carpet while rubbing elbows with Kim, Kendall Jenner, Tom Brady, Cher, and Sylvester Stallone.
The former first daughter also had an impromptu shoot in one of the new hotel’s corridors, although it was unclear who was behind the camera.
Ivanka posted photos from the star-studded event on her Instagram feed and Stories, including pictures of herself with Kardashian.
Justin Timberlake headlined the opening of Fontainebleau Las Vegas, and the socialite sat with Kardashian and Jenner while watching his performance.
Ivanka made sure to congratulate Jeffrey Soffer and David Grutman, the duo behind the opening of the 67-story hotel-casino tower, which famously sat unfinished for more than a decade.
The socialite lives in the same neighborhood as Soffer, 55, who is a longtime resident of Indian Creek.
‘Viva Las Vegas! Bringing some Miami spice to LV!’ she wrote. ‘Congrats to my amazing friends @DavidGrutman and @jeffrey.soffer._01 on the epic opening of the @fontainebleaulasvegas.’
December: Touring an Israeli kibbutz devastated by Hamas attack
Ivanka and her husband, Jared, flew to Israel in late December for a somber visit to a community devastated by the Hamas terrorist attack on October 7.
The couple toured Kfar Aza, a southern kibbutz near the border of Gaza, where members of the Gaza-based terrorist organization massacred civilians and abducted hostages.
Ivanka and Jared, who arrived in the country on December 21, wore bulletproof vests as they met residents who lived in the community up until the attack, The Jerusalem Post reported.
A local named Chen Kotler told the couple that 64 people were murdered and 19 were kidnapped in the kibbutz, saying five are ‘still hostages in captivity in Gaza.’
She reportedly gave Ivanka a dog tag inscribed with the words ‘Kfar Aza is my home,’ telling the former first daughter, ‘Hopefully, one day, I can host you in my home.’
The couple also spoke with border police and IDF soldiers who helped save lives during the massacre, as well as members of ZAKA, a voluntary emergency response team.
‘Thank you for sharing your stories with us. I just have to say it’s very humbling for me to be with you, with the heroic acts that you did,’ Jared said during the visit.
‘What you did had made a massive difference.’
