After the countdown event, you will be given a route out of the Marina Bay area.
People may be directed to different MRT stations to avoid crowding at certain stations.
“We ask that you please head to a less crowded MRT station and use the interconnected MRT network to reach your destination,” police said.
“We ask the public to be patient and cooperate with security personnel.”
Safety inspection, road closure
Baggage may be searched by security personnel.
Police also advised revelers to stay close to friends, avoid carrying large amounts of cash or wearing excessive jewelry, and avoid contact with unruly crowds.
You should also make sure your bag is always closed and hung in front of you. Do not put your wallet in your back pocket.
Several roads were closed to vehicle traffic and the public was advised to use public transport to reach the Marina Bay area.
“Parking on surrounding roads or stopping vehicles along the ECP (Benjamin Sears Bridge) to view fireworks is strictly prohibited,” police said in a statement.
