Belgium’s ‘water cycling’ trails are noteworthy

Must read

A stunning cycling and walking trail that cuts through a large pond in Belgium is winning the hearts of netizens who recently discovered it, all thanks to a LinkedIn post. The 212-meter long track, named “Cycling Through Water,” is located in the middle of a pond in the De Villars Nature Reserve. This architectural wonder is built to allow people to cycle or walk right in the middle of the pond. You won’t get wet even if the water reaches eye level. The track is 5 feet deep and 10 feet wide. Prevents water channels from overflowing into the truck. From a distance, it looks like bicycles and pedestrians are moving through the water. The project was opened to the public in 2016. It is part of the canton of Limburg’s efforts to improve cycling trails and promote environmentally friendly tourism.

Recently, Ari Consulting Services shared a video of an “underwater cycling” trail on LinkedIn. The post quickly garnered him hundreds of responses within a day. In response, one LinkedIn user wrote: “Now we can experience how Moses felt” when the waters of the Red Sea parted for his journey!! Thanks to Ari Consulting Services for the post. ” Another argued, “Engineers deserve a big round of applause.”

These are not the only notable cycling routes in Limburg. Close to the “Underwater Cycling” trail is another trail called “Cycling Through the Trees,” which is visited by thousands of tourists every year. “Cycling through the Trees” allows you to climb up to a height of 10 meters above the ground, allowing you to cycle or walk among the treetops. It is a circular structure 700 meters long and 3 meters wide.

BuroLandschap founder Peter Darnen, who designed the structure, told Dezeen: Of course the trees were very important, but if the trees were damaged or destroyed after the construction of the buildings, there would be no point in cycling through them. ”

He added: “The good thing about this structure is its rounded spiral shape. There is something magical about cycling combined with high-altitude cycling. It’s as if the visitor is a child again.” I often see visitors doing laps as well. What’s more, the 600 meter ride is not too strenuous and very comfortable, even if you’re not in great shape.”
