The ACT trade delegation to Mumbai, Delhi and Singapore will focus on promoting ACT in a wide range of areas including tourism, aviation, education, sustainability and transport.

In partnership with the Canberra Convention Bureau, the conference in Mumbai will be held with tourism industry partners and representatives from Tourism Australia to promote Canberra as a destination and host conferences and business events. The delegation will also hold talks with Air India regarding the development of direct flights in the coming years.
India is ACT’s second largest international student market. To further promote Canberra as a study destination, University of Canberra Interim Vice-Chancellor Professor Lucy Johnson and senior representatives from UNSW, Australian National University, Australian Catholic University and CIT will be in attendance to meet with industry stakeholders, including IDP Education. Over two and a half days in Singapore, the delegation will continue to build on one of ACT’s most active international relationships.
Aviation and tourism are back in the spotlight in Singapore, with trade exchange events and the promotion of Canberra’s business events market also on the agenda.
The delegation, accompanied by representatives from Canberra Airport, will meet with Singapore Airlines to advance the prospect of resuming direct flights between Singapore and Canberra. A key factor in restoring direct flights between Singapore and Canberra is growth in the three major origin markets: India, China and Europe. Visit Canberra works closely with Tourism Australia and industry partners to achieve this.
A number of ACT export companies will also accompany the delegation.
The delegation, which includes two accompanying staff members to India and one accompanying staff member to Singapore, will cost approximately $30,000. This will be met in her 2023-24 budget for the ACT Executive. Final costs will be reported as part of your regular trip report.
