From February 1 to 2, 2024, Nathaniel C. Fick, Ambassador for Cyberspace and Digital Policy, will lead a U.S. delegation to the 4th ASEAN Digital Ministers Meeting (ADGMIN) in Singapore. He will be accompanied by U.S. Ambassador to ASEAN Johannes Abraham and Deputy Assistant Secretary for International Information and Communications Policy Steve Lang, who will serve as the head of the U.S. delegation and head of the four countries.th The ASEAN Digital Senior Officials (ADGSOM) meeting will be held from January 30th to 31st.
Ambassador Fick and Assistant Secretary Lang discussed broad cooperation under the U.S.-ASEAN Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, including issues such as the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity, and the U.S. commitment to ASEAN and ASEAN centrality. The two leaders will meet with representatives of ASEAN member states and dialogue partners to discuss U.S.-ASEAN digital cooperation on reliable information and communications technology infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital regulation. Assistant Secretary Lang will also meet with industry leaders and academia to strengthen regional engagement and a multi-stakeholder approach to digital and cyber issues.
