New Belgium Brewing invests in LA-based Open Beer
New Belgium Brewing is known for all kinds of beers, but Straight Ahead Lager was never one of them. That may explain why the Fort Collins-based brewery has acquired a minority stake in OPEN Beer, a Los Angeles company working to make modern lagers.
In addition to taking a minority stake in the company, New Belgium will provide brewing contacts, technical support and share resources for Open Beer’s full range of products, according to Brewbound.
Keir Dillon, Managing Partner at OPEN Beer, elaborates: This allows us to blend their exceptional brewing with our vision of authentically building from within our culture. This partnership is about more than just making great beer. It’s about having a voice in the industry. ”
As part of OPEN beer Art collaboration series, each OPEN Beer can features unique artwork by notable members of OPEN Beer’s creative community, introducing a new artist series every other year. The first series features great work by Joe Roberts, Katsu Sawada, and Merrill Smith.
