Anna Pieters’ Belgian team pony Balotelli will remain in Belgium and move to a new rider. Twelve-year-old Margaux Nellis took over the reins.
Balotelli is a 14-year-old Hanoverian pony stallion bred by Benetton Stakes out of Just a Nice Girl HS (Sweet Dream SF x Burlington Stakes). Produced by ZG Seefeld Müller.
the beginning of germany
This dark bay stallion first came into the limelight in 2012 when he was presented and accepted at the Hannover Pony Stallion Licensing in Verden.
He has not conducted any stallion testing and has no offspring registered with the German Equestrian Federation.
Listed as owned by Mark Hocker, he first played against Simone Hocker von Reut in Nienburg in June 2013. He took his third place in his 2013 Hannover Young His Pony Championships held in Hannover. A year later he won a silver medal at that championship.
bo van nimwegen
Balotelli was sold to the Netherlands and resurfaced in 2015. At that time he was registered as the owner of Bo van Nimwegen.
He competed in the domestic pony class from 2015 to 2018 under the name Balotelli H and then as ‘Balotelli High Pleasure’. At the time, she was training with Ingrid Gerritsen. The pair were champions at the 2015 Dutch Outdoor Championships at L1 level, reserve champions at the 2017 Dutch Indoor Championships at M2 level and finished 15th at the 2018 Dutch Outdoor Championships at FEI Pony level.

The pony was then sold to the family of Belgian show jumper James Peters. His daughter Anna has a strong interest in dressage and is coached by Wim Verwymp.
The pair made their international show debut at the 2021 CDI Sint-Truiden, completing their careers competing in 53 CDI classes. In 2021, they gained experience at the CDIs of Obgrabeek, Grote Brogel, Sint-Truiden, Zandhoven and Aachen Indoor. In 2022, they competed in Lille, Obgrabeek, Sint-Truiden, Compiègne and Meerle, and participated for the first time as part of the Belgian team at the 2022 European Championship in Strzegom, finishing 42nd in the individual test with 67.487%. finished.
In 2023, Peters also started competing with junior rider’s horse Harlekin, but his partnership with Balotelli improved and his scores increased. In her final year riding her pony, she chose to compete in the 2023 European Pony Championships at Le Mans. There, the team won a bronze medal and finished 21st in the individual test with a score of 69.513%.
At the Belgian Pony Championship, he won bronze medals in 2021 and 2022, and silver in 2023.
Margaux Nellis
Balotelli has now been sold as an FEI pony teacher for 12-year-old Margaux Nellis, a pupil of Belgian GP rider Delphine Mayresonne.
Nerys has already raced Dragon Ball de Mer, an 11-year-old FEI pony bred in France by Aaron N x Kiss Me de Ville, raced internationally by France’s Fleur Weikamp in 2021 and 2022. I am gaining experience.
Peters plans to continue playing at junior level in 2024 with Harlequin (Chinook x Don Gregory), as well as his home-bred 6-year-old Belgian warmblood mare Sumatra AH (Secret x Sir Donner Hall). I’m planning on welcoming you. This mare was bred by Paul Peters and is currently trained and raced by Sakina van Dijk.
