SINGAPORE, Feb. 20 (Xinhua) — A Chinese airliner, the C919, made its debut in a flight demonstration at the Singapore Air Show, which opened on Tuesday.

Two C919 narrow-body aircraft and three ARJ21 jetliners developed by the Civil Aviation Corporation of China (COMAC) participated in the air show.

Two Chinese aviation services companies, Tibet Airlines and Henan Civil Aviation Development and Investment Group, signed orders for 40 C919 aircraft and 16 ARJ21 aircraft at the air show.

COMAC said it will carry out promotional activities at the air show to strengthen its network with customers and partners.

Aerobatic teams from India, Indonesia, Australia and South Korea and an Airbus A350-1000 also contributed to the performance at the air show.

The Singapore Air Force sent F-15 fighter jets and Apache attack helicopters to perform aerobatics at the event.

With more than 1,000 participating companies, the air show is expected to attract 50,000 trade participants from more than 50 countries and regions.

For the first time, the Singapore Airshow has set up country pavilions for 40 Chinese aerospace companies, organizers said.

Aerospace Times Feipeng Company of East China’s Jiangsu Province brought its cargo delivery unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) to the Singapore Air Show.

Liu Zefeng, general manager of the UAV company, said: “This is the first time for our company to participate in an overseas air show. We hope to further build connections with overseas customers and provide new cargo delivery solutions that are characterized by low cost and high efficiency. “I think so,” he said.

The air show continues until Sunday.
