Boeing’s current predicament
With American manufacturing giant Boeing struggling to produce the 737 Max, the Chinese manufacturer’s presence in Singapore is likely gaining some traction.

With a passenger capacity of 158 to 192 and a range of 4,075 to 5,555 kilometers, the C919 falls into the narrow-body, medium-range category, putting it on par with the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737.

While the C919 has potential benefits for potential buyers, particularly for Asian airlines, in terms of lower production and operating costs than the 737 MAX, challenges remain.
The aircraft has yet to be certified by any major Western aviation regulator, which could prove restrictive and limit its appeal to airlines outside of China.
Additionally, the aircraft does not yet have much real-world operational experience, and without a track record of safety and reliability, prospective airlines may be hesitant to adopt it, especially in the current climate.
Continued geopolitical trade tensions between China and the United States are also hampering widespread acceptance of Chinese-made aircraft in the West.
