On the 21st, from 4:00 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Deputy Foreign Minister Kiyoto Tsuji received a courtesy call from Antoine Evrard, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to Japan. The outline of the meeting is as follows.
- At the outset, Deputy Minister Tsuji stated that he was pleased to be able to communicate with Belgium on various occasions, including the King’s Day reception. In response, Ambassador Ebrard stated that he was satisfied that there was considerable communication between the two countries at various levels, and expressed his desire to continue to cooperate closely with Japan.
- The two leaders exchanged opinions on a variety of topics, including Deputy Minister Tsuji’s visit to Belgium in November, as well as Belgium’s efforts to assume the EU presidency in the first half of 2024 and Belgium’s participation in the 2025 Osaka-Kansai Expo. We made an exchange.
