Wilfredo González Vidal, First Deputy Minister of Communications, elaborated on potential areas for deepening existing and new types of cooperation during a video conference with Spanish and Cuban businessmen living in Spain. .
Mr. Vidal explained that there is a possibility of developing a joint model with Spain. “Joint projects could be marketed in Latin America due to the language environment shared by both countries,” he said.
In his opening remarks, González Vidal cited the formation of human capital as one of Cuba’s strengths, which provides space for areas of great competitiveness.
In this regard, he mentioned the promotion of big data and blockchain in Cuba’s software industry in general, as well as the increasing role of more than 260 private micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in IT activities.
Mr. Vidal took the opportunity to emphasize that Cuba attaches great importance to data protection, which is an essential element of guarantees in a positive working environment.
During the Cuba-Spain exchange, businessmen expressed interest as well as concern for cooperation and investment in the region. Some of the issues raised during the event were artificial intelligence and linked platforms for health services.
