Portugal Under-21 international Danny Mota starred as Monza survived a dramatic comeback to win 3-2 against Frosinone in Serie A this weekend.
Mota scored the opening goal and provided an assist, giving the visitors a 3-0 lead within 55 minutes, but Frosinone rallied to ensure a tight end to the game at the Stadio Benite Stilpe on Saturday afternoon.
Mota’s sharp poacher’s goal put Monza ahead in the 18th minute and Valentin Carboni brought on just before half-time to make it 2-0. Matthias Soule’s own goal in the 10th minute of the second half seemed to have ended the match, but the home side immediately hit back with a goal from Abdou Haroui, with Soule converting the penalty (76th minute) to end the close game.
After the final whistle, Mota told reporters, “As important as it was to win, it was difficult.” “Frosinone got almost all the points at home. We knew what the environment was like, but we did well. We scored three goals and we defended well. Goals And I’m happy with the assist, but above all I’m happy that we got those three very important points. We always want to do more. We’re thinking about Saturday. I’m happy and let’s enjoy this victory here.”
