Diane Chirpich (Spain), 81, of Plymouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday. February 7, 2024, at the University of Minnesota Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1943 in Minot, North Dakota. After her high school graduation, she moved to MPLS to attend St. Mary’s School of Nursing. Diane has provided care for over 40 years as a nurse at the University of Minnesota Clinic. Diane met the love of her life, Robert Charpich, whom she married in 1972 and eventually settled in Plymouth. Diane is survived by her husband Robert (Bob); her son Andrew (Melissa); grandchildren Charity and Eric; her sister Susan (Doug) Jooss; brother John (Michelle) Spain; brother-in-law Frank (Penny); sisters-in-law Jean (Jerry) Bruckner and Judy Freitag; numerous nieces and nephews. His girlfriend, Diane, was preceded in death by her son, Daniel; Her parents are Clyde and Margaret Spain. Spanish brothers Joseph and James. parents-in-law Frank and Frances; brother-in-law Dick Freitag; sister-in-law Margaret Spain; In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Huntington’s Disease Society of America or St. Francis Cabrini Church. She was buried privately in Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for her will be held on Saturday, February 10th at 2:00 PM at St. Francis Cabrini Church, 1500 Franklin Avenue SE, Minneapolis, where friends and family will gather one hour prior.
