Dispute between Ghali and Israeli Ambassador to Italy
On stage at the Sanremo Festival, Ghali wanted to convey a very clear message, and at the same time a simple and strong sentiment that will definitely unite everyone: “Stop the genocide”.
His words did not go down well with Israel’s ambassador to Italy, Alon Barr, who killed more than 360 young people during the Nova music festival, among the 1,200 victims of the October 7 massacre. She wrote that she had been raped. A further 40 of them were kidnapped and remain in the hands of terrorists. The Sanremo festival could have expressed solidarity with them. It’s a shame this didn’t happen. ”
Yesterday (February 11), Ghali was a guest on Rai 1’s Domenica Inn, and when journalist Dondoni asked him what he thought about the Israeli ambassador’s words, Ghali replied:
“I’ve always talked about these issues since I was a child. Since October 7th. I had a lot to say and I’m sorry for responding in this way. What did I need to use it for? I was a musician before I came here, and I’ve always talked about this since I was a kid. I’ve been using it in my songs since I was 13, 14 years old. We’ve been talking about what’s going on. I was born thanks to the internet, but I haven’t talked about it since October 7th, and this thing has been going on for a while. The fact that we talk about it is not good, the policy of terrorism continues, people are afraid to say stop the war, stop the genocide, we have a moment where we feel that if people say it too long they will lose something. Live in peace. There are children in the middle. Children who are dying. Who knows how many stars, doctors, teachers, geniuses there are in the middle.”
