EAM Jaishankar meets officials from Portugal, Poland and Belgium on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference

munich [Germany]February 17 (ANI): External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Saturday met the foreign ministers of Poland, Belgium and Portugal on the sidelines of the security conference in Munich.
During their meeting, EAM and Portuguese Foreign Minister João Clavinho shared their views on recent world developments.
“Happy to meet Portuguese FM @JoaoCravinho, this time in Munich,” Jaishankar wrote in a post on social media platform X.
He added that he “shared his views on recent global developments.”

During the meeting with Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski, EAM discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries in different fields.
“Today, on the sidelines of MSC 2024, I had an in-depth discussion on the Ukraine conflict with Polish FM @sikorskiradek. We also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in various fields,” he said in a post on X.

In a meeting with Belgian Foreign Minister Hadja Rachbib, EAM praised the progress made in India-Belgium bilateral relations.
“It was a pleasure to meet the Belgian FM @hadjalahbib in Munich this morning. We are happy to work with the Belgian EU Presidency to advance bilateral relations,” EAM wrote.

The 2024 Munich Security Conference (MSC) begins in the German capital on February 16th and concludes on Sunday, February 18th.
MSC 2024 provides a unique opportunity for high-level debate on the world’s most pressing security challenges.
Six decades after its founding by Ewald von Kleist, the MSC will convene senior decision-makers and experts from around the world to discuss the most pressing international security concerns in February 2024, according to an official statement from the conference. It is said to have brought together thought leaders.
Earlier today, Jaishankar also called on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the sidelines of the ongoing 2024 Munich Security Conference and congratulated the Awami League on its new mandate in the recent national elections.
