EastEnders star Michelle Collins has hit back at trolls who accused her of trying to play the “Don’t you know who I am?” card after being stuck in a continuous row on EasyJet.

Actress Cindy Beale, 61, found herself stranded in Spain after facing everyone’s worst nightmare – losing her passport while on holiday.

Having celebrated the new year abroad, she took to social media to inform EasyJet headquarters of her plight, begging them to allow her to board a flight so she could return home.

She also complained to the police, who told her it was for the airline to decide.

“EasyJet, please help. I lost my passport at Malaga airport. The police (I’ve been there) said it was up to the airline to let me fly home. Tonight’s flight is at 8:30 p.m. I’m heading to the airport.” I just left the police station. Thank you, Michelle X,” she wrote on social media platform X (previously known as Twitter).

But after her first tweet didn’t go well, she went on to complain about the airline, writing: “Nobody is very helpful @easyJet, this is awful.”

But she received little sympathy from her online followers, who accused her of trying to use her fame as preferential treatment.

They pointed out that EasyJet could not bring her on board “just because she’s Cindy from EastEnders”.

“Who do you think you are? You need a passport to get on a plane. Everyone does it. Just because you’re in EastEnders doesn’t mean you need a passport,” one person wrote.

Stressed out, Ms. Collins didn’t understand any of that and said, “Oh please!!!!! Do I have to do something terrible? I’m not stupid, I’m just really stressed out.” Happy New Year.”

The London-born star, who also appeared on Coronation Street, gave an update on what he’s been up to since then, thanking fans for their support and advising he’s still stranded in a foreign land but is “safe.” did.

“Thank you everyone for your helpful comments. I couldn’t get on the plane and went to the embassy but it was closed and I applied for an emergency document online. So we’ll see what happens. Let’s see. I’ll be there when it opens in the morning. I’m sure they’re filming @bbceastenders, but I’m alive and safe,” she tweeted.

She was issued an emergency passport to return home at the British consulate.

In an update to X on Tuesday, she wrote: I sorted it online, paid £100 for emergency documents and was seen at the British Consulate at 9am this morning.

“It’s been minimally stressful to say the least, but it could have been a lot worse. I’m safe, healthy and thanks to all the lovely people here and my friends who have helped me. .”
