EJU KATA tour begins in Belgium

Must read

The long-planned EJU Kata tour begins this weekend, with the first stop being Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium. The city hosts a Kata event for the EJU every year, which is now part of the tour, but was preceded by several events aimed primarily at improving the quality of Kata competitions and standardizing categories. An innovative introduction was made. This weekend he will have 86 pairs registered from 17 countries on 4 continents, guaranteeing high-skilled performances. Specifically, “Katamenokata” received the most entries with 23 groups.

From now on, all EJU Kata tournaments will be held under the same conditions, with unique IT support, the CARE system at the competition, and the launch of ranking lists for both competitors and Kata judges.

The EJU team has also encouraged the introduction of younger age categories, and they are now fully aligned with the match age categories. Additionally, at this year’s EJU Kata Competition, we will be holding a Kata Examiner Seminar in order to improve the quality of the examinations. To promote the development of young referees, the team conducts a new referee exam at each tournament.

Traditionally, tournaments in Louvain-la-Neuve are among the most notable in terms of quality and organization. No doubt the weather will be as good this weekend as it has been.
