Emeren hits 1 GW storage milestone in Italy

Emeren Group Ltd, the world’s leading solar power project developer, owner and operator, sells two additional battery energy storage systems (“BESS”) in Italy to Matrix Renewables (“Matrix”) announced that it was a success. This transaction builds on our commitments outlined in our proprietary Development Services Agreement (DSA) jointly signed in June. In just six months, Emelen has achieved an important milestone, delivering approximately 1 GW of development and approaching his BESS portfolio target of 1.5 GW. This achievement represents the ability to execute within the framework of the partnership with Matrix and strengthens Emeren’s position as a leading company in the battery storage market.

Gravel A is a successful joint venture between Emeren Limited and Enerpoint, which are active in the development and construction of utility-scale solar power plants, and Kaizen Invest Holding, a private energy, real estate and infrastructure investment company. It is contained. By forming a joint venture partnership with Matrix, Emeren will be able to leverage years of expertise and experience in the growing and evolving cutting-edge Italian solar power and battery industry.

These projects feature state-of-the-art standalone energy storage systems with a cumulative capacity of 293MW and a discharge period of 4 to 8 hours for each project. The new project sites are located in Puglia and Lazio, the latter in a less congested but strategically important region that corresponds to an important balancing grid node. Ready-To-Build status is expected to be achieved by early 2025.

Yumin Liu, CEO of Emeren Group, commented: “We are excited to be part of a growing partnership and joint venture with Matrix Renewables, Enerpoint and Kaizen, which reflects our dedication to our solar power and storage strategy and mission within Emeren. Because it shows that. While making progress and advances in the implementation of energy storage pipelines, the company has currently successfully sold over 975 MW of battery storage projects in Italy. We are proud of our accomplishments and look forward to new developments in 2024. ”

Paolo Rocco Viscontini, shareholder of the Gravel A joint venture and CEO of Enerpoint, commented: The energy transition requires significant storage targets and Gravel A has all the experience and capabilities to play the right role in this exciting field. ”

Chinese-owned Emeren Group Ltd has a total pipeline of over 3 GW of projects and IPP assets across Europe, North America and Asia, as well as a storage pipeline of over 10 GWh. We focus on solar power project development, construction management and project finance services in collaboration with local expert teams in multiple countries.
