The Royal Academy of Sciences will bring together experts from IGME, GEOPLAT, Repsol and Complutense University to discuss the future of geothermal energy in Spain.

The Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences (RAC) is preparing to open its doors on February 21 at 6:00 pm (Madrid time), offering a unique opportunity for the public to immerse themselves in a rich dialogue between eminent experts in the field of science. This event entitled, “Geothermal Energy: Renewable, Profitable and Stable Energy”covers topics related to the nature of geothermal energy, its applications in both shallow and deep geothermal energy, the future prospects of this form of energy in Spain, and promises to cover important topics such as exploration, research and development. doing. In addition, special attention will be paid to the major scientific and technological challenges currently being addressed to improve the knowledge and utilization of this resource.

This session is organized in collaboration with the Royal Academy of Sciences (RAC), the Spanish Institute of Geology and Mines (IGME) and the Spanish Geological Society, and will be attended by three experts in the field: Cristina de Santiago from IGME – CSIC, GEOPLAT Technology and Celestino García de la Noceda from the Management Group of Innovation Platforms, and Álvaro Arnáiz from Repsol. These experts will be moderated by Alfonso Muñoz, Dean of the Faculty of Geological Sciences of the Complutense University of Madrid.
