The creative community begins the new year with a “poignant reflection on transience and impermanence in the face of rapid development.”
For two days from January 13th to 14th, the Peace Center will bring together luminaries from diverse local subcultures for Deep Cut, Asia’s first grassroots conference for Singapore’s creative community.
More than 40 voices from the music, nightlife, visual arts, street art and dance scenes will discuss the current realities and envisioned futures of local grassroots communities across more than 20 carefully selected programs.
Through panel discussions, presentations, workshops, roundtables, and showcases, Deep Cuts explores identity, space, the roots of community, and what lies beyond the creation of a clear creative niche.
Additionally, the fact that the Peace Center – a signature building that has supported 40 years of change – is scheduled to be demolished at the end of January 2024 is also a great opportunity for people to become an evolving gateway to grassroots creativity and community building in Singapore today. This is the perfect time to shine light on it.
