Newark, New Jersey (1010 wins/WCBS 880) – The Newark FBI on Friday released information to the public in hopes of helping them investigate the disappearance of a New Jersey man who has been missing since 2019.
Federal agents are assisting Marlborough police in their search for Liam Ballan, 36. Liam Ballan was last seen hiking in a remote part of Italy.
According to the FBI, Baran, a Marlboro resident, left home on April 8, 2019, to visit his grandparents in Israel before traveling to the wine country of Italy. He writes his blog online and talks about his love of wine and wine country.
Baran had planned a trip from Italy to France and had booked a return flight from Paris to the United States on May 16, 2019, but was unable to board.
Federal authorities said the last activity linked to Mr. Baran was buying a train ticket to Turin, Italy, on a credit card.
An investigation by Italian police revealed that Varane was in the Aosta Valley, staying in several hostels and spending time with other tourists.
Baran is described as having brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5 feet 8 inches and weighing approximately 160 pounds. There is also a gap between my two front teeth.
