A travel enthusiast talks about the dress code when visiting tourist attractions on a trip to Italy.
They forced her to cover up because she was showing “uncomfortable” skin while on vacation.
Fashion designer Ariana Olivia Bolaños (@aoliviab) took her style to Italy, but with disappointing results.
She told viewers in the video that she was dress coded for wearing clothing that revealed an “uncomfortable” amount of skin.
Ariana tried to enter Milan’s famous church, but was unfortunately told she wasn’t wearing appropriate clothing.
In the video, she gave viewers a look at her full-body outfit as she stood outside the historic venue.
The fashionista wore white tennis shoes and mid-thigh-length denim shorts to accentuate her figure.
A subtitle above the visual reads, “When I was dress coded at the Duomo in Milan because my knees were showing.”
She tried to hide her frame with a modest white, slightly sheer fabric that barely covered her body.
Some thought it was obvious that she was not dressed appropriately.
“Because it’s Miss Girl of the Church. Same with mosques, temples and synagogues. You have to respect that,” the critic wrote.
“That’s why I wear modest dresses,” Ariana replied.
“I hope this doesn’t hurt anyone,” she wrote in the video’s caption.
The comments section was filled with people providing supportive feedback and additional information.
A TikTok user commented: “Yeah, this happens at every famous church in Italy. Better do your research before you go.”
“Church dress codes vary from country to country. Don’t hate people you don’t know. The Lord says to come as you are,” one person added positively.
“This is not universal. It’s very strange that different Catholic churches have different dress codes,” echoed another participant.
Some people express confusion and frustration about wearing a dress code on a relaxing trip to Italy.
