New Delhi: The Indian Air Force’s Saran Helicopter Exhibition Team held its first practice display on Sunday after arriving in Singapore on February 12, 2024. The team is based at the Singapore Air Force’s Changi Air Base.
The Singapore Air Show starts on Tuesday. This air show features a variety of exhibition teams from all over the world. It will also feature major aircraft and systems manufacturers and operators showcasing their products.
The Saran team operates the Dhruv Advanced Light Helicopter manufactured by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited. This is the first time a helicopter will take part in the show. The Saran team’s first international exhibition was also in Singapore, at the 2004 Asian Aerospace Air Show held at the Changi Exhibition Centre.
The Saran team will be displaying four helicopters to the public at this year’s Singapore Air Show. The exhibition aims to demonstrate the agility and maneuverability of the ALH Dhruv and the advanced skills of the IAF pilots who fly these aircraft.
ALH and its advanced variants are manufactured in India and are operated by all Indian armed forces. The successful implementation and operation of this platform is one of the shining examples of self-reliance in the country’s defense sector.
