Singapore:

A 17-year-old Indian girl was killed and three others injured when a bus traveling from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur collided with a motorbike on the local highway, according to media reports.

The incident occurred at around 3:50 a.m. on Saturday when a bus carrying 28 passengers collided on the northbound side of the North-South Expressway and burst into flames, Channel News Asia reported.

Alor Gajah District Police Superintendent Arshad Abu said a teenage girl of Indian nationality sustained burn injuries and was pronounced dead during treatment.

He said an investigation revealed that the bus collided with a motorcycle lying on the road, dragging it several meters before the vehicle burst into flames.

The motorcycle was on the road from a previous accident in which a 21-year-old motorcyclist lost control of the motorcycle.

Three passengers in the back seat of the bus were trapped and suffered burns. The police chief said the injured passengers were family members, one of whom was a Singaporean.

According to reports, the three passengers and the motorcyclist were taken to Alor Gajah Hospital for treatment.
