The Italians cornered England in their first match in Rome. The final score was a narrow 27-24 in England’s favor, but Italy controlled much of the game in the first 30 minutes and initially led 17-8.
However, in the second half, they were unable to cause any damage to England’s defense, which was built by new manager Felix Jones, a former Springbok staffer.
New manager Gonzalo Quesada has already shown the team is rapidly improving under his guidance, but this should still be a straight-up win for Ireland as they look towards another Grand Slam.
