Jetstar Asia made history by taking to the skies with its maiden flight 3K833 from Singapore to Wuxi, establishing its second direct flight to mainland China.
Jetstar Asia’s Airbus A320s are now plying their routes to Wuxi’s Sunan Shuofang International Airport, underscoring the airline’s unique position as the only airline connecting Singapore with the culturally rich city of southern China’s Jiangsu province. is solidifying.
Flights and schedule
The service will begin with two round-trip flights per week in response to initial demand. However, recognizing the growing interest, Jetstar Asia will increase the service to four times a week from January 15, 2024.
This adjustment aims to meet the growing demand for convenient travel options between Wuxi and Singapore.
Jetstar Asia offers over 70,000 low-fare seats annually and is committed to providing passengers with affordable connections.
Jetstar Asia CEO Varasan Pasupati expressed his enthusiasm for this strategic move. He highlighted the importance of China as a key market and highlighted the importance of Wuxi as Jetstar’s second port in China.
Varasan believes this expansion is a fitting end to a year marked by aircraft growth, network expansion and the addition of the Jetstar family.
Respond to market demand
There has been great interest and demand for the route since it was announced in October. The timing is perfect, with borders opening and coronavirus-related travel restrictions easing.

He highlighted that the launch of Jetstar Asia will reconnect Changi and Wuxi, expanding connectivity with China to 26 destinations and giving travelers more options between China and Singapore.

Mr Lim expressed optimism that air movement between Singapore and China has recovered to more than 70% of pre-COVID-19 levels.
The recent announcement of a 30-day reciprocal visa waiver agreement between Singapore and China has further increased hopes for an increase in leisure and business travel next year.
