French travel store operator Lagardère Travel Retail has opened its first brick-and-mortar Costa Coffee store in Belgium at Liege-Guillemins station.

Since September 2021, Costa Coffee has a presence in Belgium through its network of premium self-service coffee machines in Brussels, Antwerp, Ghent and Liège, as well as its hospitality and Horeca Costa Proud To Serve concept.

Costa Coffee, a Coca-Cola company, is one of Europe’s largest branded coffee chains with more than 3,100 stores in 19 markets. Costa Coffee has 2,677 stores in the UK, as well as more than 100 stores each in the Republic of Ireland and Poland, its second and third largest markets in Europe.

Costa’s debut in Belgium follows debuts in Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan and Japan in 2023.

The Liège store strengthens the partnership between Costa Coffee and Lagardère Travel Retail. The partnership began in 2008 when the travel concession operator launched Costa His Coffee in the Czech Republic with a store in Prague.

In February 2023, Lagardère Travel Retail acquired the master franchise rights for Costa Coffee in Poland and Latvia.
