Must read

Louis Vuitton’s Le Chocolat Maxim Frédéric, which hails from the Cheval Blanc Hotel in Paris, is soon to open its first branch outside France in Singapore. The boutique will feature similar creations by award-winning pastry chef Maxime Frédéric.

The Singapore shop, part of Louis Vuitton’s Marina Bay Sands store, will offer an assortment of chocolates inspired by the luxury brand’s iconic monograms. An opening date has not yet been announced.

Frédéric partnered with Louis Vuitton for the first time for the 2022 exhibition. He is also involved in producing Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton’s Le Chocolat Maxime Frédérique in Cheval Blanc, Paris. Singapore will be the store’s first store outside France.

At the luxury hotel Cheval Blanc in Paris, Frédéric is known for using ingredients from his homeland of Normandy. In 2022, he was awarded the prestigious Gault & Millau Guide magazine’s Pastry Chef of the Year award.

In the case of Louis Vuitton, Maxime Frédéric’s chocolates range from the simple to the very complex, including the brand’s Vivienne doll placed on top of a Louis Vuitton trunk that rotates with a key. Some have been reproduced.

Many of these French sweets can be found at Maxime Frédéric at the Louis Vuitton Café and Chocolatory in Paris, which also serves savory lunch dishes featuring the iconic monogram.

In addition, Louis Vuitton teamed up with Frédéric and celebrity chef Arnaud Doncker to open a seasonal restaurant in Saint-Tropez.

In Singapore, consumers can buy Frédéric chocolates made with premium ingredients, including hazelnuts grown on farms in Normandy.

Frédéric joins a growing list of chefs appointed by luxury brands as ambassadors. Gucci has collaborated with Italian chef Massimo Bottura on a series of Italian restaurants around the world, while watch brand Jaeger-LeCoultre has partnered with renowned pastry chef Nina Metayer on a fine pastry collection.
