In January 2024, SGTOX, the first comprehensive asset token trading platform based in Singapore, announces the appointment of Mr. Li Kaiyang as CEO. Mr. Li Kaiyang brings his 22 years of rich experience in the financial industry, characterized by deep understanding and exemplary performance in fund and asset management.
From 2017 to 2023, Mr. Li Kaiyang served as Managing Director and first CEO of CMB International (China Merchants Bank International) in Singapore. During this period, he played a central role in establishing the first international business office. His responsibilities include securing his CMS license from MAS, forming and aligning the organization across teams and systems, developing new sales channels and partnerships, and managing multiple businesses including Institutional, Asset Management, and Asset Management to his team. From 2014 to 2017, in his capacity as Chief Investment Officer of RHB Asset Management Company in Singapore, Mr Lee Kaiyan doubled the number of investment products and strategies. He achieved notable success by entering new sales channels in Europe and demonstrating strong investment performance.
From 2006 to 2014, Mr. Li Kaiyang was an assistant director at Baring Corporation, where he managed over US$1 billion in funds. He co-founded and managed the Baring ASEAN Frontier Fund in Hong Kong. This fund quickly became the best performing and fastest growing fund and in less than five years was ranked his third largest ASEAN fund on the market.
From 2000 to 2006, Mr. Li Kaiyang contributed in the areas of asset management and asset management at OUB and HSBC Bank (Singapore). His proven competencies span a variety of cultural contexts, including international environments (Bearing/HSBC), China (CMB), and the ASEAN region (RHB).
Mr. Li Kaiyang graduated from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2000 and is a CFA holder with license number 1/4/9 in Hong Kong and CMS Fund Management license in Singapore.
