WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — The final day of two outdoor festivals has been canceled due to inclement weather.

Taste of Little Italy in Port St. Lucie and Ultigra in Palm Beach Gardens were both scrapped Sunday.

Taste of Little Italy President Jerry Somma said in a statement Sunday morning: “Due to the inclement weather, this decision was made in the best interest of public safety and the safety of our vendors, sponsors and staff. reached,” he said. .

Taste of Little Italy is a free, three-day street festival held in the Plaza de la Tradition that celebrates Italian tradition and culture.

Jennifer Sardone Shiner, a spokeswoman for the event, said the festival is free, but those who purchased VIP seats will receive a refund.

In its 17-year history, Taste of Little Italy has changed its dates, moving from January to February.

“The February dates worked out really well,” she told WPTV. “That wasn’t the problem.”

But Sardone-Scheiner said the festival will be back “bigger and better” for the same weekend next year.

Further south in Palm Beach Gardens, the annual art festival ArtiGras was canceled on Sunday.

“We have determined that this is in the best interest of public safety and the safety of our artists,” a statement on the group’s website reads.

The city of West Palm Beach also canceled its “Sunday on the Waterfront” concert series.
