GSIS said pensioners “can download, register and use the GSIS Touch mobile app” and that the agency will send a one-time personal identification number to their registration email. .

Pensioners can also use the app for provisional calculations, loan applications and claims. You can also monitor premium transfers and loan payments.

Introduced in 2011 to replace the annual update of activity status, APIR requires pensioners to appear annually at GSIS to notify the agency that their status is still valid.

Meanwhile, GSIS Touch, introduced in 2020, allows pensioners to update their status anytime and from anywhere.

APIR’s facial recognition feature allows members to obtain pension receipts without having to visit an insurance office in person.

The app was initially available only in the Philippines, but GSIS said it is working to expand access to pensioners in other countries.

“GSIS is already working on rollout to pensioners living in other parts of the world, including Europe, the Middle East and Canada,” GSIS said.
