Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valery Zarzhiny held a telephone conversation with the Admiral, Chief of the Defense Staff of the Italian Armed Forces. Giuseppe Cavo Dragoneand invited him to visit Ukraine, Zarzhini said in a January 15 Telegram post.
The Ukrainian military commander said in a message that the content of the conversation was about bilateral military cooperation and the exchange of experience between Kiev and Rome.

“I invited Admiral Dragon to visit Ukraine and cooperate within command posts and brigades of the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Zarzhny said.

The parties also discussed the maintenance of military equipment that Italy has provided to Ukraine since February 2022.

Prime Minister Zarzhini expressed his gratitude to the Dragon for the resolute support Italy has given Ukraine in the fight against Russian aggression.
On January 10, Italy’s parliament passed a resolution to continue military aid to Ukraine.
