The Q-Cero Alliance was launched with more than 40 companies with the aim of decarbonizing thermal energy demand in Spain’s industrial and building sectors.

Thermal electrification is a field with special characteristics, and although there are many common barriers for each project, there are also significant differences between them.

Spain’s industrial capacity is limited and rising energy costs are impacting its competitiveness.
However, the country has a competitive advantage from renewable resources and is believed to offer significant opportunities to attract industry and create jobs and other value added.
The partnership is being coordinated by the Institute of Technology’s Human Development Technology Innovation Center, where Chair Iberdrola is based.
