Queen Letizia and King Felipe are alleged to have disrespected King Juan Carlos after he was treated dishonorably at the King of Spain’s birthday party.
The former king celebrated his 86th birthday with a party surrounded by his family, but Queen Letizia and King Felipe VI were not in attendance.
The former king is a controversial figure in Spain and is engaged in a long legal battle with his ex-girlfriend.
Juan Carlos celebrated his birthday on January 5th with a big party in Abu Dhabi, where he has lived for the past four years.

The 86-year-old, who abdicated the throne in 2014, was photographed cutting into a birthday cake themed after Spain’s coat of arms with a curved sword.
Among Juan Carlos’ 100 guests were his daughters, Infanta Elena and Infanta Cristina.
His grandchildren Felipe, Victoria de Marixalal, Irene and Pablo also attended.
The photos showed close friends and family celebrating the former monarch.

However, Juan Carlos’ eldest son and his wife Leticia were conspicuously absent from the celebration.
Since moving to the United Arab Emirates, Juan Carlos has often not been able to see his family.
His close friend Pedro Campos, the king’s former regatta partner and restaurant owners Miguel Arias, Jerónimo Paez and Eduardo Anitua organized the party.
The four oversaw the celebration with the help of the former king’s daughters Elena, 60, and Christina, 58.

The lovely image showed the family smiling for the camera with the Spanish flag and a magnificent Christmas tree in the background.
Elena’s daughter Victoria de Marixalal wished her grandfather a happy birthday on Instagram, posting a family photo with the caption: “Congratulations, Grandpa. I love you.”
