The family of a young man from Rochdale have denied rumors that he is romantically involved with the Belgian princess. Reports in the Belgian press suggested that Whitworth student Nicholas Dodd had developed a relationship “beyond friendship” with Crown Princess Elisabeth, heir to the Belgian throne.
A Belgian newspaper reported that Nicolai and Princess Elizabeth “hit it off right away” when they met at Oxford University, where they both studied. According to reports, the two have been spending a lot of time together since being part of the same research group and have become “very” good friends.
The article states that Nikolai is a “civil boy” who “probably comes from a wealthy family” and is an “excellent choice” as a potential husband for Princess Elisabeth.
