Roman-inspired Italian restaurant and bar comes to Little Italy

Must read

A new Italian restaurant is putting the finishing touches on a prime location in Little Italy, with a goal of opening next month. Roman Wolves will land at the intersection of Farr and Ketner streets in the Broadstone Building, replacing The Heights, a short-lived modern European restaurant that took over the space from Cafe Gratitude, which closed in early 2023.

The 4,000-square-foot venue has been completely redesigned to include a larger bar and lounge area, with a focus on cocktails made with Italian spirits and a variety of low-alcohol spritzes. For those who can’t help but think about the Roman Empire, the decor incorporates elements of ancient Rome and contemporary details inspired by the Italian capital.

Owner Nino Cusimano also runs Rusticucina, an Italian restaurant on Park Boulevard with a menu that reflects his Sicilian heritage. At Roman Wolves, he and chef Enrico De Santis create the classics that define their gastronomy, from cacio e pepe and pasta carbonara to saltimbocca, pinsa alla mortazza, or Roman flatbread centerfolds. We are building a menu dedicated to Roman cuisine, including classic dishes. Around Mortadella, and onigiri called sapuri, a popular street food snack.

When it opens in February, the restaurant will serve dinner every night, lunch on weekends and happy hour every afternoon.
