A flight from London to Lisbon was forced to make an emergency landing in Spain on Friday after a drunk and unruly passenger acted “violent” on board.

La Vos de Galicia newspaper reported that a Portuguese man in his 50s, whose name has not been released, was boarding a Ryanair flight from London Stansted International Airport to Lisbon on Friday.

The man bought several bottles of alcohol at the airport and began drinking before boarding his flight in London.

The news agency cited sources who reported that he displayed a “very violent behavior” when he boarded the plane.

The passenger became unruly and punched the front seat, forcing other passengers sitting around him to leave their seats for fear of being hit.

One passenger said the man was behaving like an “animal”, the news agency said.

Flight attendants were unable to calm the man down and the pilot had to divert the plane and make an emergency landing at Vigo Airport in Spain, while the passengers were forcibly removed from the plane by the Spanish Civil Guard. Ta.

The passenger reportedly punched one of the private security guards, and Spanish media reported that the passenger could be arrested and face criminal charges.

The plane then took off and headed to Lisbon after the passengers were offloaded.

Ryanair flights from London to Lisbon typically last less than three hours, and tickets cost £14.99, or just over $19.
