This ambitious proposal is scheduled to open in Eibiza by summer 2025.
Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, also known as Saltpe, says this is the “most important project” of his life.
The controversial star has caused a stir in the food world with his steaks coated in 24-carat gold and his flamboyant method of curing the meat.
He first rose to fame in 2017 when a video of him sprinkling extravagant salt went viral and became an instantly recognizable meme.
Since then, he has built a restaurant empire in the United States, Greece, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
Now he has chosen Ibiza for his biggest project to date, investing around 100 million euros.
In addition to the restaurant, the chef will build a complex with 51 apartments, four restaurants and 80 parking spaces.
Gökçe visited the construction site on December 6 last year, when the project first broke ground.
He posted various videos and photos from the site, boasting that he was “eating, dancing, drinking, sleeping and enjoying the lifestyle of his new project in Ibiza.”
The complex, named Nusret Residence and Restaurant, is located between Calle João Carles I and 8 D’Agosto, near the Ibiza Gran Hotel.
Details of the four restaurants are being kept secret, but there is likely to be at least one, the famous steakhouse Salt Bae’s.
The restaurant, which serves outrageously expensive steaks, has been visited by stars such as Leonardo DiCaprio and soccer player Ivan Rakitic.
Gökçe met the building’s architect, Jose Rivas, on site. He also designed Las Boisville and the Sir Joan Hotel in Evissa.
Just hours later, boarding a private jet, the chef hinted that he could open another steakhouse in Madrid, expanding his empire to 24 locations.
