Belgium and Ukraine signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Ukraine’s strategic industries, giving impetus to the development of bilateral relations, especially in the field of defense production.

“This is very important in terms of developing the domestic defense industry, establishing joint ventures with partners and localizing defense production in Ukraine. This is one of our priorities,” said Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine. the lieutenant said. General Ivan Havryuk.
He pointed out that the memorandum outlines the intention to implement joint projects aimed at increasing the capabilities and production of Ukraine’s defense industry. These include plans to jointly produce certain types and types of weapons, organize repairs, and train specialists and technicians.
Other measures aimed at building a modern defense industry in Ukraine will also be implemented.
“Ukraine is very interested in the establishment of joint ventures that will be operated in accordance with international standards. We are confident of further fruitful and mutually beneficial cooperation between our two countries,” the Deputy Minister of Defense stressed.
The Defense Ministry added that a Belgian-Ukrainian defense industry seminar was held last week. The event was organized by the Ministry of Strategic Industries of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the Ministry of Defense and the Embassy of the Kingdom of Belgium in Ukraine.
The seminar was attended by representatives of 33 Ukrainian and 8 Belgian companies.
